How it works

Start warm, not cold.

The problem

Writing is the task pushed to the end of the day and then to next week, so the page stays half-finished and the launch waits on a paragraph. When you do sit down to it you start cold every time — no house style, no reusable openings, nothing to react against. What comes out reads like it was written under time pressure, because it was.

The turn

You tell Lekha what the piece is for and who it is for. It drafts several versions rather than one, so you have something to choose between and argue with. Then it rewrites to your notes and keeps a record of the voice you settled on, so the next piece starts warm.
